I never thought of blogging this as an entire post, because this was only one of the events that I organized in AIESEC UPM. However, by organizing an event again made me felt touched and having more sense of belonging to this organization. Fyi, organizing LCVP Election is one of my job description (JD) for Finance and Legalities (FL) director in this term. I felt kind of impossible to do it when I was first introduced to this JD. How could I, someone who was inexperienced to handle such serious and important election? Fyi, LCVP = Local Committee Vice President. Each AIESEC organization in a university in Malaysia is considered as a local committee. Vice president is kind of like the head of a department in AIESEC. In order to make sure the election would run successfully, preparation must be done carefully.
It was quite stressful and demotivated when I prepared for this election after I had done for my final examinations. Most of my course-mates had started their holidays but I was still the one who was busy with AIESEC stuffs. However, that was my job, I couldn't do anything, but just did it. I knew I was inexperienced when I tried to get confirmation for most of the things I did as I worried my decision was not good. However, this was the second time I organized an event in AIESEC. I learnt to be more decisive, so I tried to make my own decision sometimes. However, I did actually make few mistakes and I would take it as a lesson for not thinking thoroughly and be extra careful.
The very first thing I had to do was to open the registration link to all the members. There was a "Remarks" section of the registration form. When I read some of their remarks, I was motivated by them. This is the reason why I like this organization so much. The people in this organization are never stingy to show their appreciation and recognition to others' effort. Even they were facing their own problems, they would never forget to encourage others. Thank you so much each and everyone of you.
From the very beginning, I was dealing with LCP (Danilo), my VP (Wilson), LCPe (Hsio May) for this election. Later on, I started to find the Chair (Chui Mun) and Returning Officers, RO (Yuna and Wei See) as the coordinators for my election. Most of the time I worked closely with Hsio May, Chui Mun, Yuna and Wei See. Four of them really helped me a lot as they stayed up late to check for my spreadsheets, had some virtual meeting sessions and discussion with them. I was really glad that Chui Mun, Yuna and Wei See were able to lend me their hands because it was really hard to find helpers during semester break. Three of them did not take a long time to accept my offer. I was really grateful to have them with me.
It was such a big joy to four of us at the end of virtual Vote of Confidence, VoC (part of the election and also my job during the election). Except for Hsio May, because she still need to interview the candidates who passed the VoC. It took me around two weeks to prepare and run for this election.
It might be a boring one to those who are not AIESECers because this post is mainly about my job in AIESEC. Nonetheless, I would take this opportunity to thank each and everyone who supported me during all this while, not only my friends in AIESEC, but also my family and HB. <3 The tedious weeks had passed, BUT I am still left with quite much AIESEC works to me during this semester break. LOL.
However, I would take my own sweet time to do it because I really need some times to rest! I guess that is all for today.
Buhbyeeeeeee!
